Background
AAA Encompass publication designer, Laurie Shields at LaurieShieldsDesign.com, asked me to lend a hand with the cover of this issue. We have worked together for many years and really enjoy collaborating on cool projects.
Challenge
Remove sections of the background of the original image in order to merge it naturally with the title.
Solution
Using techniques in Adobe Photoshop, I was able to remove the sky, trees and other objects above the horizon in the original image shown below. Then Laurie was able to layer it with the title and other text to create an engaging cover that everyone loved.
