Furniture designer, Gay Lehnerz, had transitioned from working in-house for Homestead House and Furniture Row to full-time consulting under her brand Innovative Concepts.
Challenge
New furniture designs can be a big hit or a flop. The key to coming up with new designs that will hit is starting out understanding the trends as well as the current top sellers. Gay has her finger on the pulse of this industry and is hired as an expert consultant. But the vision in her head can be difficult or impossible to simply describe to furniture store owners. To get their support to move forward with design and market testing it is necessary to give them a visual of what the new design will look like.
Solution
Create conceptual illustrations. As seen above, the key to success is to provide many details such as texture, color, and other unique design details like inlays.
